Our mission is to spread the core values of FIRST, its philosophies, and its own mission to youth ranging from kindergarten through twelfth grade. To encourage youth to become problem solvers and innovative thinkers that will shape our future with the STEM tools we equip them with.
Our History
Team 7109, Clare Chaos Theory, began during the 2018 season, and the game was FIRST Power Up! Most of our early members began not knowing how to use a miter saw, let alone what it was, but with the help of our mentors, other teams, and even fellow members we have grown in proficiency and continue to pass our experiences on to new members. Since our inception we have grown tremendously. We started as a ragtag team of nerds who wanted to find a place at our school.
Our second year was the 2019 season, and the game was Destination: Deep Space. We established our outreach program. We chose to make FIRST accessible to middle and elementary grades by forming FLL Jr., FLL, and FTC teams. Many of our members coach, mentor, and volunteer with the pre-high school teams. Our lead mentor Mr. Winkler orchestrates what we teach them, to where their competitions will be.
Our third year was the 2020 season, and the game was Infinite Recharge. We hosted a FLL qualifier, and our pre-high school teams did tremendously well. Our FRC team didn't have the opportunity to compete due to Covid-19. We held multiple virtual robotics meetings to stay in touch and talk with one another, but did not have the opportunity to meet in person.
Our fourth year is this upcoming 2021 season. Many of our high schoolers are working with the middle and elementary age kids on their seasons competitions. As far as we have heard, FRC is going to continue with the same competition as last year since many teams could not compete, but there may be some changes. Wish us luck in this upcoming season and stay safe!
